Where We Are

Our Environment

The Lab at Stanford

The Weldy Lab is located within the Biomedical Innovations Building (BMI) on Stanford’s main campus—one of the university’s newest and most collaborative research environments. The BMI building brings together investigators across cardiovascular medicine, genetics, bioengineering, and data science, fostering a highly interactive and interdisciplinary scientific community.

Our lab environment supports both experimental and computational research, with access to state-of-the-art core facilities and close proximity to clinical programs within Stanford Medicine. This enables seamless integration of human genetics, molecular biology, and translational investigation.

Being embedded within Stanford’s ecosystem provides exceptional opportunities for collaboration across departments and institutes, including cardiovascular medicine, genomics, and quantitative biology.

Living in the Bay Area

Stanford is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, one of the most dynamic and innovative regions in the world. The area offers a unique combination of academic excellence, technological innovation, and natural beauty.

Residents benefit from immediate access to outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, and coastal landscapes, as well as a vibrant cultural and culinary scene across nearby cities such as Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Berkeley.

The Bay Area is also home to a dense network of biotechnology and technology companies, creating a rich environment for scientific exchange and career development. It is a diverse and globally connected community, making it an exciting and welcoming place for trainees and their families.

Note

We are committed to creating a supportive, collaborative, and intellectually vibrant environment—both within the lab and in the broader community we call home.
